NFL Week 6

Ok, I know I’ve been MIA for the past two weeks of NFL previews, but I’m back with a vengeance today. Last week was a great week of football, particularly if you watched the Denver-Dallas game. I had hoped for a good game from Dallas, and that’s for sure what we got. I got a bit nervous after Dallas went up 14-0, but Denver came back and it turned out to be one of the best games I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, Tony Romo has taken a ton of heat for that last pick, but I think it’s ridiculous to say he’s the reason Dallas lost that game. I think if the Cowboys’ offense can keep playing like they did on Sunday, they’ll be playing the Broncos again in February.  Anyways, we have some good games on the slate for Week 6, so let’s get to them.

NFL Week 3 Preview

I’m getting to this post kind of late today, but it’s worth it. My lovely wife somehow scored tickets to Mumford & Sons last night here in Dallas, and it was a fantastic show. It’s been sold out for months, I don’t know how she did it. I don’t work well on late nights, but I have plenty of caffeine in me today to pump this out.

NFL Week 2 Preview

Is it just me, or was Week 1 a weird week of football? Teams like the Chargers and Eagles played better than I thought. Some players had incredible weeks (Peyton Manning) and some had terrible weeks (Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant). Since it’s only Week 2 now, we can’t really make solid judgement calls on any of this. Maybe the Cowboys’ Defense has 6 turnovers every game, but I wouldn’t count on it. Most of the teams I watched this week looked really rusty, even if it was just for the first half (Houston, Denver).

NFL 2013 Predictions

*I started writing this last week, and wasn’t planning on it taking me a week to finish, so I didn’t plan on having a Week 1 recap, so I won’t. I’m going to do that later this week*

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m super excited about football season. I’ve even found myself watching some college football the past few weekends, to prep my mind and spirit. As I’ve done every year, I am going to lay out some predictions for the upcoming year. In the past, I have been pretty good with predictions, if I do say so myself, so feel free to use this post to bet, and then send me some money.

Over the past few years in the NFL, it’s almost a given that 4-5 playoff teams from the previous year will not make the playoffs in the current year. Last years playoff teams for the AFC were Patriots, Broncos, Ravens, Texans, Colts, Bengals. And for the NFC 49ers, Packers, Vikings, Falcons, Seahawks, Redskins. Since history shows that 4 of these teams won’t make the playoffs, I’ll go with Ravens, Redskins, Vikings, Colts. And the 4 I’ll have making it instead are the Cowboys, Saints, Chiefs, Dolphins. I’m not super confident about the AFC picks, mostly because the AFC has an unequal balance of power, unlike the NFC, in which almost any team can make it.

To recap, Here are my playoff rankings (again, Week 1 has no bearings on these picks):

AFC

  1. Denver Broncos
  2. Houston Texans
  3. Cincinnati Bengals
  4. New England Patriots
  5. Kansas City Chiefs
  6. Miami Dolphins

NFC

  1. San Francisco 49ers
  2. Green Bay Packers
  3. Dallas Cowboys
  4. New Orléans Saints
  5. Seattle Seahawks
  6. Atlanta Falcons

And I have the Denver Broncos beating the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl. I promise, it’s not a homer pick!

Who are your playoff and Super Bowl teams? Don’t forget to send me money when I help you win!

Today

Today is quite the significant day. August 14. For one, it is Our Holy QB, Tim Tebow’s birthday. I know opinions of him are becoming less and less positive/relevant, but I still like him. Secondly, it is my two-year birthday of starting this blog! I can’t believe all the twists and turns that I’ve been through since beginning this journey as a writer, but I’m so glad I started.

Tim Tebow VS David Robinson

Today’s post is written by Ben Zajdel, a fellow blogger and DFW resident. I have talked a lot about my love for Tim Tebow, but when Ben approached me about a post that included The Admiral, I knew he was a psychic. David Robinson is my favorite baller of all time.
