Is it just me, or was Week 1 a weird week of football? Teams like the Chargers and Eagles played better than I thought. Some players had incredible weeks (Peyton Manning) and some had terrible weeks (Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant). Since it’s only Week 2 now, we can’t really make solid judgement calls on any of this. Maybe the Cowboys’ Defense has 6 turnovers every game, but I wouldn’t count on it. Most of the teams I watched this week looked really rusty, even if it was just for the first half (Houston, Denver).
According to sources of mine, (and I know how vague that is) Tony Romo was promised that the first two picks of the NFL Draft, beginning this Thursday, April 25, would be offensive linemen. Romo was promised this before he signed his 6 year, $108 Million contract on March 29.
I’m pretty sad football season is coming to an end. Of course, we still have the playoffs, which means plenty of time for fun stories and exciting games. No matter what happens, we have some great stories already in the books from the 2012 NFL season:
As we near Christmas Day (5 days away!) NFL Teams are asking Santa for plenty this year. The Cowboys, Bears, and Steelers are asking for a playoff miracle. The Jets are hoping McElroy is the QB they have been hoping for (and I hope along with Tim Tebow that he gets a shot elsewhere, and rumor is they’re shopping him and Sanchez). Matt Ryan and the Falcons are hoping to get that elusive first playoff win, as is Matt Schaub (TJ Yates won the Texans’ playoff game last year).
Time for another version of Quick Hits! Maybe I’ll change the name to something more creative like 4 downs or 3 strikes or the PK or the 100m or bullseye. I don’t know yet, still working on it. Any suggestions?
Well, guys, I went 0-4 again in my fantasy football leagues. I’m not sure why I suck so bad. It’s really all-or-nothing for my teams. Either they all perform well, or they all are terrible. There is no in between.
